Skiing in Les Arcs this season? The driver collects you at Lyon Airport and takes you up to your village, from 1600 to 2000, with no funicular or shuttle. The price is set on quote before you travel.
Les Arcs is at the far end of the valley. You take the A43 to Chambéry, the A430 to Albertville, then the N90, which passes Moûtiers and carries on another 27 km to Bourg-Saint-Maurice.
From Bourg-Saint-Maurice, the D119 climbs to the resort villages. It is about 17 km to Arc 1800. Arc 1950 and Arc 2000 are higher up the same road.
From November to March they are compulsory on Savoie mountain roads, unless you carry chains. The driver has what is needed for the D119.
Les Arcs lies beyond Moûtiers, so on holiday Saturdays you pass every busy point in the Tarentaise. Allow time.
Arc 1600, 1800, 1950 and 2000 are not in the same place. Your exact village changes the journey time.
Price per vehicle. Sedan: up to 4 passengers. Van: 7 seats, ideal with skis.
Motorway into Savoie, dual carriageway through the Tarentaise, then the climb from Bourg-Saint-Maurice.

Collect your bags, walk out, and the driver is waiting with your name on a tablet. They stow the skis and suitcases and the journey starts straight away.

The driver waits. The delay costs nothing more.

Les Arcs is several villages at different altitudes. Give your village and residence and the driver drops you outside.
The first village, built from 1968. The funicular from Bourg-Saint-Maurice arrives here.
The largest village, opened in 1974, with many residences, shops and restaurants.
The newest, built in the early 2000s. A pedestrian village at the foot of the slopes.
The highest, opened in 1979 below the Aiguille Rouge. It is also the furthest along the road.
Bourg-Saint-Maurice station sits at the foot of Les Arcs, and TGVs arrive there in season. From the station you can take the funicular to Arc 1600 in 7 minutes, or a taxi to your residence.
Bourg-Saint-Maurice station: about 17 km to Arc 1800, 25 to 35 minutes. The taxi helps if you are staying away from Arc 1600.
Lyon Part-Dieu station: 211 km, 3h to 3h30.
The resort was built in one go, village after village, from 1968 onwards. The ski area runs from 810 m in Bourg-Saint-Maurice to 3,226 m at the top of the Aiguille Rouge.
Les Arcs is linked to La Plagne. Together they form the Paradiski area, with about 425 km of runs. Staying on the La Plagne side? See the Lyon Airport → La Plagne taxi.

The way down takes as long as the way up. Add a buffer, then 2 hours at the airport:
The taxi picks you up outside your residence. No need to ride the funicular down with your suitcases.
Practical if you already arrive by train in Bourg-Saint-Maurice. From the airport you first need to reach a station. The funicular only goes to Arc 1600: other villages need a shuttle.
You drive the whole Tarentaise, then the D119 in winter. Once there, the car is barely used.
One car from the airport to your village, whichever it is. The price is known before you leave.
Les Arcs is 160 km from Geneva and 199 km from Lyon. Driving times are close. Choose your airport according to your flight.
