Flying into Lyon for a ski week at Les 2 Alpes? One car takes you from the arrivals hall to your residence below the glacier. You know the price before you leave: it is set on quote.
The first part is straightforward. The A43 leaves the airport, then the A48 runs to Grenoble. The southern ring road and the N85 take you on to Vizille.
The D1091 then follows the Romanche river. It passes through Le Bourg-d'Oisans and four lit tunnels before reaching the Chambon dam. There you leave the valley on the D213, which climbs 9 km of bends at an average gradient of about 8% to the resort entrance.
From 1 November to 31 March they are compulsory in the mountain areas of Isère. Our vehicles are equipped. In heavy snow, chains often go on before the climb, near the Chambon lake.
The D213 is the access road to the resort. On holiday Saturdays, arrivals meet departures and the drive can take an hour longer.
The glacier keeps skiing going into early summer. Our taxi from Lyon runs all year, not just in winter.
One price for the whole vehicle. Sedan for up to 4 passengers, 7-seat van for larger groups or lots of skis.
The first three stages take you to Vizille. The fourth climbs through the Oisans to the Chambon dam.

No shuttle to find, no ticket desk. The driver stands in the hall with your name on a tablet, loads suitcases and ski bags, and off you go.
Add it to your request. The driver follows the real landing time.
The driver comes at the new time. A delay does not change the price.
Baby seat or booster on request. Just mention it when you book.
Give the name of your residence or hotel and the driver drops you at the entrance.
The heart of Les 2 Alpes, at 1,650 m. The Jandri 3S leaves from the snow front, with most hotels and residences around it.
Les 2 Alpes stretches over several kilometres. With your exact address, the driver goes straight to your door.
The original village, at around 1,300 m. It is the lowest point of the ski area.
Down in the Vénéon valley, linked to the resort by gondola. It is reached by a different road, so please mention it.
Not everyone flies. The taxi can also meet your train, at the time it arrives.
Lyon Part-Dieu station: 170 km to Les 2 Alpes, 2h30 to 3h. The driver meets you at the station.
Grenoble station: 69 km, about 1h20. The shortest option if your train goes on to Grenoble.
The village sits on a wide shelf between the Romanche and Vénéon valleys. The ski area climbs to 3,600 m, and the resort describes the Mont-de-Lans glacier as the largest skiable glacier in Europe.
Since late 2024, the Jandri 3S has linked the snow front to 3,200 m in 17 minutes. The altitude means skiing from late November to early summer, depending on snow.
A 6-day pass also lets you ski a day in other resorts, including Alpe d'Huez. Staying there instead? See the Lyon Airport → Alpe d'Huez taxi.
Count the drive, a buffer, then 2 hours at the airport before take-off. Our guide:
The driver collects you outside your residence, skis included, so there is no bus stop to walk to.
In winter, coaches run from Saint-Exupéry to Les 2 Alpes on a fixed timetable. If your plane is late, you may miss your departure.
You need winter tyres, have to drive the D213 bends, sometimes at night or in snow, then park for the whole week.
The driver works around your flight, not the other way round. The price is fixed before departure, for the whole vehicle, and you get out at your residence.
For Les 2 Alpes, choose Lyon: 158 km from Saint-Exupéry against 219 km from Geneva, roughly an hour less driving.
