The route follows the A40 to Cluses, then the D902 through Taninges and Les Gets to Morzine. From there two accesses exist: the Prodains road, which reaches the cable car linking Avoriaz in four minutes, and the high road that climbs directly to the resort car parks through six kilometres of hairpins.
Allow 1h40 in normal conditions. Avoriaz being entirely pedestrian, drop-off is either at Les Prodains or at the entrance car parks, where horse-drawn sleighs take over towards the residences. Tell us your accommodation when you book so the driver picks the right access.
Avoriaz has no traffic at all. Depending on your residence and arrival time, the best drop is either the Prodains cable car or the high car parks. We settle this with you at booking so you are not carrying skis further than necessary.
The Avoriaz road is one of the most demanding winter accesses in Haute-Savoie. Winter tyres compliant with the French Loi Montagne II, chains carried and fitted whenever conditions require, at no extra cost.
Avoriaz holds the snowparks of the Portes du Soleil and draws a strong freestyle and freeride crowd. Snowboards, fat skis, airbag packs and avalanche safety kit are all carried — tell us the volume when you book.
Price is for the whole vehicle, including tolls and luggage. Skis travel by van only. The weekend rate applies on Saturdays and Sundays. Identical outbound and return.
107 km, about 1h40: motorway to Cluses, the valley to Morzine, then the final climb.
For an airport transfer Geneva to Avoriaz, the usual transfer time is 1h40. On a peak Saturday it can reach 2h20. The motorway part is quick. Time is lost on the shared valley road past Les Gets, then on the final climb. Your drop point also matters: the Prodains cable car is reached sooner than the high car parks at the resort entrance.
Avoriaz has no rail link. The nearest station is Thonon-les-Bains, with a regional bus line to Morzine and Avoriaz. From Cluses, the bus to Morzine continues to Avoriaz on Saturdays only. Seasonal coaches from the airport run on fixed timetables. With a private transfer, you are not tied to a bus stop: the driver takes you to the drop point agreed for your residence.
For Avoriaz to Geneva airport, aim to be at the terminal two hours before departure. On a weekday, leave about 3h40 before take-off. On a Saturday, leave 4h20 before. Pick-up is at the resort car parks or at Les Prodains, after the cable car down. Agree the point when you book, as sleighs or the cable car add time before you reach the vehicle.

For four travellers on a weekday, the saloon works out at roughly €61 each for a direct journey with drop-off at your accommodation. On busy Saturdays from January to March, allow up to 2h20.
Avoriaz has no streets open to cars. Your taxi stops either down at Les Prodains or up at the resort entrance. The choice changes both the price and the journey time.
